𝙇𝙤𝙜 𝙞𝙣 𝙨𝙪𝙘𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙛𝙪𝙡. 𝙒𝙚𝙡𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙩𝙤 𝘾𝙊𝙉𝙉𝙀𝘾𝙏𝙄𝘾𝘼. Glasgow-based Lo Rays makes modern electro-rock, made up of glitchy synths, pop hooks and metal riffs. 𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙛𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙡𝙤𝙬 𝙢𝙤𝙤𝙙. 𝘾𝙊𝙉𝙉𝙀𝘾𝙏𝙄𝘾𝘼 𝙝𝙖𝙨 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙘𝙧𝙞𝙗𝙚𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪 4 𝙬𝙚𝙚𝙠𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙢𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙧𝙚-𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙝 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙙𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙧𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙣𝙚𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙡 𝙥𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙬𝙖𝙮𝙨. In 2023 Lo Rays released a self-produced concept EP Algorithm Gods, set in a post-apocalyptic dystopia, where a tech corporation CONNECTICA controls the masses. The songs link together to tell a story of a conditioned mind that wakes up and rises against the system. 𝙁𝙖𝙞𝙡𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙮 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙣𝙚𝙭𝙩 72 𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙪𝙡𝙩 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙖𝙘𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙩 𝙗𝙚𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙯𝙚𝙣. Algorithm Gods received radio play on BBC Introducing Rock on Radio 1, and was featured on the Scottish Daily Mail. In 2023 Lo Rays played their biggest shows to date supporting VUKOVI. Finnish songwriter Laura Takala formed Lo Rays in 2018 after moving to Glasgow following her dream to make music in the footsteps of her heroes Biffy Clyro.
