Cana Nongkhlaw was born and raised in Shillong and belongs to the Khasi Tribe. She has always found comfort and joy in music & writing. Cana believes it's absolutely beautiful how art, in its various forms, allows individuals to channel their emotions, transforming silent feelings into vivid pieces of self-expression. 

For her, this tapestry of emotion has always been woven through the threads of music.  Most of what she writes comes from a place of feeling, personal experiences surrounding indigeneity and stories of the human experience.
