Biographie

Lucie Hendry is a lever harpist from Scotland and currently based in Denmark. Developing a reputation in the global harp community, Lucie has forged a path of musical innovation and international collaboration. Alongside musicians from Denmark and Scotland, she performs in the Lucie Hendry Trio, crafting a unique blend of original folk music infused with contemporary jazz influences. The music is deeply inspired by Lucie’s experiences since relocating to Denmark in 2021. Lucie released her debut solo album, Land of Eden, in June 2023. Recorded by her trio, the music has featured on national radio in both Denmark and the UK including stations such as BBC Radio Scotland, BBC Radio 2 and DR P8. The trio has toured in Denmark and Scotland with performances at major festivals including Celtic Connections, Godtfolk and Aarhus & Copenhagen Jazz Festival. Lucie is also co-founding member of harp band, Flora and Fauna: a multi-national folk-fusion band that also features the original music of Celtic harpist, Justyna Krzyżanowska (Sweden). The quartet have developed a distinctive sound that intertwines their traditional folk roots with contemporary influences. Lucie was a finalist in BBC Radio Scotland's Young Traditional Musician of the Year 2021 competition, and nominated for ‘Up and Coming Artist of the Year’ at the 2023 Scots Trad Music Awards. She is dedicated to advancing harp music and sharing the instrument with new audiences.
