“God gave me music for the pain, not the story.” If there is anything Nashville-based singer/songwriter Alisa Turner is sure of, it’s this—the passion to craft melodies, weave lyrics and tell stories through her captivatingly unique brand of vulnerable artistry is one that resides down deep in her bones. Growing up the daughter of a worship pastor and being raised in a musical home, Alisa has been enthralled by music her whole life and began writing music of her own in her teen years. Those early years paved the way for the next twenty, which she has spent traveling the country to share her music with whoever would listen. With a bold determination, infectious joy and inspiring faith, Alisa continues singing despite a lifetime of heartbreaks, including the loss of her father, the death of her infant son and a multi-decade battle with chronic Lyme Disease. And yet, Alisa says, “Music was written in my DNA. Alisa has worked with some of the best in the music industry, such as Grammy Award winning songwriter Michael Farren (Lauren Daigle, Jason Crabb), Cary Barlowe (Carrie Underwood, Lady Antebellum) and Tony Wood (Reba McEntire, Joy Williams), in addition to sharing the stage with artists such as Tenth Avenue North, for KING & COUNTRY and many more. Despite all this, Alisa will still proudly tell you that the greatest accomplishment in what she does is not a stage or an award, but rather “being able to help others feel and be moved by the music and the story it tells.”
